Committees and Working Parties

The Parish Council works through a small number of formal committees and informal working parties. Committees meet in public with published agendas, while working parties do not. This page sets out each group’s responsibilities, membership, and Terms of Reference.

The Parish Council carries out its work through a small number of formal committees and informal working parties. Committees meet in public and follow published agendas; working parties do not hold public meetings and have no delegated decision‑making powers. Details of each group, including responsibilities, membership, and Terms of Reference, are provided below.

Committees

Planning Committee

The Planning Committee meets only when a planning application cannot be considered by the full Council within the statutory response period. It ensures applications are reviewed in good time when scheduling constraints prevent discussion at an ordinary meeting.

HR Committee

The HR Committee oversees staffing matters on behalf of the Council, including recruitment, contracts, performance, and related employment responsibilities.

Working Parties

Working parties are informal groups established to explore specific projects or areas of interest. They do not meet in public, do not issue agendas, and have no delegated authority. Notes may be shared with the Council where appropriate.

Community Emergency Plan Working Party

This working party supports the development and ongoing review of the Community Emergency Plan, gathering local information, identifying resources, and assisting with preparedness activities. It consists of three parish councillors and five residents.
