An emergency road closure is affecting Water Street, Hampstead Norreys, from 5-9 June while Thames Water repairs a significant water main leak. The closure is in place 24 hours a day, with residential and emergency access maintained where possible.

West Berkshire Council has advised residents of an emergency road closure on Water Street, Hampstead Norreys, to allow Thames Water to carry out urgent repairs to a leaking water main.

According to the notification, a visible leak with significant water flow has been identified, requiring immediate repair works.

Closure Details

Location: Water Street, from its junction with The Close to its junction with the unnamed road between Ilsley Road and Newbury Hill.

Dates: 5th June to 9th June 2026

Times: 24 hours a day

Reason: Emergency water main clamp repair following a visible leak and significant water flow.

Access Arrangements

  • Residential access will be maintained where possible.
  • Emergency services access will be maintained where possible.

Motorists are advised to follow signed diversion routes and allow additional time for journeys while the works are underway.
