Volunteer Drivers Needed: Downland Volunteer Group Appeal

The Downland Volunteer Group urgently needs drivers and admin help to support vulnerable residents. Just a few hours a month could make a big difference. Find out how to get involved.

A smiling woman helps an elderly man out of a car, gently holding his hand for support. A yellow cape is drawn on the woman, symbolising her as a community superhero. The background features a soft green gradient and a parked car.

We’ve been asked to help share an important message from the Downland Volunteer Group (DVG), who are urgently seeking volunteer drivers to support vulnerable residents across our area.

DVG provides transport for people who are elderly, unwell, disabled, or otherwise in need – helping them attend medical appointments, stay socially connected, and maintain independence. Even a few hours a month can make a meaningful difference.

If you have a car, some spare time, and a willingness to help, DVG would love to hear from you. They also welcome volunteers to assist with admin and phone support in their Compton office.

Volunteers receive full support, mileage reimbursement, and the satisfaction of knowing they’re making a real impact.

We’re proud to support their work – because not all superheroes wear capes… some drive cars.
