Housing Needs Survey

We’re carrying out a Housing Needs Survey with CCB to understand current and future housing needs in Hampstead Norreys. Please return your survey by 21st November using the pre‑paid envelope.

Published: 21 October 2026

Hampstead Norreys Parish Council is working with Connecting Communities Berkshire (CCB) to carry out a Housing Needs Survey for the parish. This survey is an important way to understand whether there is a current or emerging need for affordable or specialist housing within the community.

Why the survey is needed

Housing pressures are widely recognised at a national level, but they also have real local impacts. To plan responsibly, the Parish Council needs accurate, up‑to‑date information about the specific housing needs of people in Hampstead Norreys. This includes households whose needs are already met, as well as those who may require different accommodation in the next five years.

A clear evidence base helps ensure that future decisions about housing policy, planning applications, and discussions with housing providers reflect the needs of local residents. The anonymised report produced by CCB will support the Parish Council, West Berkshire Council, and other relevant bodies in understanding what types of homes may be required in the parish.

Survey distribution

Every household in the parish will receive a copy of the survey. Most have now been delivered, and any remaining properties will receive theirs shortly. The survey includes a pre‑paid return envelope.

How to respond

Please return your completed survey by Thursday 21st November using the pre‑paid envelope provided. Surveys are sent directly to CCB, not to the Parish Council.

What happens next

CCB will collate and analyse all responses and produce an independent report setting out the housing needs of Hampstead Norreys. This evidence will support future planning and discussions with housing providers.

We encourage all residents to take part. Your views are essential in shaping the future of housing in our parish.
